The Young Carers Association (the "Association") establishes this privacy policy (the "Policy") regarding the personal information it handles, as set out below. The Policy describes what personal information the Association collects and how it is used and shared, and serves as our guideline for protecting the privacy of young carers and the people they care for. This English version is provided for reference; the Japanese version shall prevail.

Where necessary, the Association collects personally identifiable information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, and care experience — as defined by the Japan Carers Federation: providing unpaid care such as nursing, looking after, attending to, or being concerned for family members, relatives, friends, or acquaintances who need care due to physical or mental ill health ("Care Experience"). The handling of Care Experience is described in Section 9.
The Association defines the purposes of use of personal information as follows and collects and uses personal information only to the extent necessary to achieve those purposes. Should the Association need to collect or use personal information for any other purpose, it will notify the individual and obtain their consent before doing so.

The Association strives to keep personal information accurate and up to date, and provides education and training to all staff and officers to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, leakage, loss, or damage.
Where a person seeking consultation is believed to be in danger of losing their life and emergency response or crisis intervention is required, the Association will promptly share personally identifiable information with the appropriate agencies and services, and will notify the police or other relevant authorities as necessary.
Except as otherwise provided by law or this Policy, the Association will not provide personal information to third parties without consent.
When a person seeking consultation or their representative requests disclosure of personal information, the Association will disclose it to the individual without delay.
