Our
Activities

The Young Carers Association runs a wide range of programs for young carers and the people around them.

LINE Consultation Services

01.

Young Carer
Channel
* Commissioned by local governments

The Young Carer Channel (a LINE chat consultation service)
offers chat-based support for young carers and their families.

Counselors who are former young carers themselves respond to worries about caring, balancing care with school or work, career choices, and family relationships.
We also regularly deliver content created especially for young carers.

Content we deliver includes:

  • Young carers' personal stories
  • Helpful tips for young carers (e.g., ways to relax, super-easy recipes)
  • Counselor profiles

Case study: local government

Saitama Prefecture
Young Carer Channel

The Saitama Young Carer Channel provides an anonymous consultation service via LINE.
Counselors who are former young carers not only chat online, but also help connect users to in-person support, always guided by each person's own wishes.

02.

Young Carers
Career
* An independent program run by the Young Carers Association.

Young Carers Career is a LINE consultation service where young carers and young adult carers across Japan can talk about their studies, career paths, and work.

Chat casually about balancing care with school or work, gaining understanding for your caring role in the workplace, and more.
Counselors with professional qualifications, such as certified career consultants, respond to your concerns.

Young Carer
Coordinators

We work with local agencies and professionals to notice young carers, connect them and their families to support, and keep supporting them over time.

We operate Young Carer Coordinator programs commissioned by local governments. Coordinators serve as the contact point for information sharing among related agencies, provide advice, map out local community resources, and identify partner organizations.
They also directly counsel young carers and their families.

Events

The Young Carers Association holds events for young carers themselves and for their supporters.

Yancle community

Yancle Community is an online community mainly for young carers and young adult carers aged 40 and under.

It is an online space built on Slack where carers can talk with peers, share experiences, and exchange information. Conversations take place in themed channels such as "thinking out loud (no reply needed)," "advice on worries," and "work questions."
